1. Teen cigar smoking is NOT an everyday occurrence for the vast majority of teens included in the “statistic.”
2. Contrary to the previous commenter’s implicit assertion, a minor percentage of cigars smoked by teens are smoked as “blunts”.
3. Yes, teens smokers tend to inhale cigars because cigarettes are their reference point and because they are so far removed from the culture of the cigars’ primary demographic–their parents.
4. It seems like–and this is just my guess–cigars are booming in popularity among teens because cigar smoking has an aura of sophistication that cigarette smoking once did. Also, besides being cheaper to acquire, cigars seem “safer” for parents to allow their young-ones than cigarettes. And, as far as I know there is no campaign against smoking cigars yet.
